Proximity Butterfly is an explosive spectacle of pounding rhythms and angelic wails reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jane’s Addiction or The Mars Volta. Founded in 2003 in Chengdu, the group remains a philosophically charged project. Proximity Butterfly boasts a French drummer, Canadian bassist, a German on saxophone/trumpet/clarinet, and an American guitarist/vocalist. The band tries to treat the human experience with maturity and seriousness, and express themselves through music. Ever since the group’s foundation, Proximity Butterfly has dazzled crowds throughout China’s underground scene.
